Hi everyone, I was just going over the IMAT syllabus and was a bit confused what was meant by chromosome mapping. Is it the same thing as a karyotype or are there any differences? ( There is also linkage mapping but I think that’s above IMAT level). And last question, if it is something different would anyone have a textbook/video source explaining it? I cannot find it mentioned in Pearson’s or Cambridge’s Bio books.
I appreciate the help,

Just wanted to add a source to this thread if anyone had the same question.
Here is another website that is well known with a full article on it:
(maybe a bit overkill but interesting).
One more thing: Idiograms (or ideograms) don’t seem to be mentioned in Pearson’s, nor in Cambridge A and AS level books.
